Painting and caulking your shed are essential to preventing water from getting inside and extending the life of your shed. To maintain the shed’s warranty, you must paint and caulk it within 30 days of installation. Our sheds do not come painted, but the exterior walls are factory-primed and ready for you to paint. On specific models, there may be some raw wood trim that needs to be primed.
Before you paint, make sure to caulk all joints and seams with acrylic latex caulk. Caulk should be applied to all horizontal and seams. All raw exterior wood must be primed using an exterior primer before painting. When painting the shed, be sure to paint all exposed edges of the siding, especially the bottom edge, and all six sides (top, bottom, two sides, front, and back) of the doors.
