Why are your sheds heavily discounted?
At Shed Liquidators, we design, manufacture, and sell wood sheds directly from our USA-based factory. With a national network of installers and last-mile delivery service, we’ve cracked the code for unlocking significant discounts on our surplus of premium quality sheds.
Why are wood sheds better than other build materials?
Wood sheds are constructed with many of the same materials as your home. They look great and are built to last, meeting or exceeding most building codes and HOA requirements.
Aesthetics
Wood sheds have an attractive look that comes in various architectural styles that can be painted and shingled to match your house.
Durability
Wood is known to be an extremely strong and durable material. Our sheds have a sturdy frame and floor system to withstand strong winds, heavy snow, and heavy equipment.
Weather Resistant
We use treated LP® SmartSide® siding that protects the shed from hail, wind, moisture, fungal decay, and termites.
Customizable
Whether you’re using it for storage or extra workspace, our wood sheds can easily be modified for any use. Dream big and make the space exactly what you need it to be.
Do the sheds arrive painted and fully assembled?
Our sheds come with pre-cut pieces ready to assemble on-site.  This means your shed gets delivered and installed without removing a fence or creating a large clearance to get to the build site.  The shed will come factory-primed and ready for you to paint.Â
What is included with the purchase of a shed?
Our sheds come with pre-cut lumber pieces ready to assemble on-site by our professional installers. Each shed has a base shed kit, a floor system, fasteners, runners, shingles, and door hardware. Some models come with extras like shelves, a storage loft, a threshold, or vents.Â
Installation & delivery
How do I reschedule my installation date?
If you need to reschedule your installation date, please get in touch with your local Shed Liquidator office to get it rescheduled (the number is included in your order confirmation email).Â
Do I need to be home during the installation?
A person at least 18 years old must be present when our installers arrive to review the building plans. You do not need to be home once the installation process has started, but you should be home at the time of completion. Our installers will give you a walk-through, ensuring your 100% satisfaction.Â
How long does the installation take?
Professional installation time will range from 6-10 hours. Time varies based on weather, location, leveling, and distance to the build site. If you purchase a 12 feet wide shed, please allow 2 to 3 days for completion.Â
Are your installers insured?
Shed Liquidators is licensed, bonded, and insured. Our professional installers are independent contractors that are insured, background-checked, and must meet our strict requirements to work with us.
How much does professional installation cost?
Installation costs are included in the price of installed sheds.
Will the installers level the ground?
Before your installation date, the site should be close to level within 6 inches or less.  If your site is out of level by 6 inches and under 18 inches, we offer a leveling package where our installers will build your shed on concrete leveling blocks (we do not excavate).
What’s included with professional installation?
Professional shed installation includes delivery, labor, final job site cleanup, and a one-year labor warranty. Installed sheds include runners (no foundation needed), and shingles.
Your installer isn’t certified to remove existing structures, attach to existing structures, perform any land excavation, perform electrical or plumbing work, or pour concrete slabs. To avoid delays and added charges, the job site must be prepared before installation.
What are the lead times to get a shed professionally installed?
Typical installation lead time is 3 to 6 weeks but may vary during peak and promotional times. Schedule dates vary due to seasonality and promotional periods.  Once you place your order, we’ll contact you to inform you of your installation date (with the option to reschedule).Â
Maintenance
What is the recommended maintenance of the sheds?
Like your home, your new shed will require occasional maintenance to ensure many years of use and a valid warranty. In addition to re-painting every few years, you should perform other routine maintenance:
- Keep all grass and vegetation trimmed around the entire perimeter of the shed.
- Do not mound soil or mulch against the siding.
- Do not stack anything against the exterior of your building, such as firewood.
- Locking doorknobs or levers should be sprayed with silicone or other lubricants to maintain the locking mechanism and prevent freezing in cold climates.
- Do not let sprinklers spray your building.
What kind of paint do you recommend for my shed?
For the exterior, we recommend using 100% acrylic latex paint. For the floor, we recommend using exterior porch/floor paint.
Do I need to paint my shed?
Painting your shed is essential to preventing water from getting inside and extending the life of your shed. To maintain the shed’s warranty, you must paint it within 30 days of installation. Our sheds do not come painted, but the exterior walls are factory-primed and ready for you to paint. On specific models, there may be some raw wood trim that needs to be primed.
Can the shed be moved once it’s built?
If your shed is built on 4×4 runners (aka skids), it can be loaded onto a flatbed truck and transported to another location. We recommend using a towing or barn moving service to do this.
The shed should be empty before moving. Additional supports or bracing may be needed inside the building before transporting. Check local zoning ordinances for transportation due to width and height restrictions.
Site prep
Is the wood treated?
Most of the exterior wood in our sheds is primed and treated to provide protection against wind, hail, moisture, decay, and termites. You can significantly extend the life of your shed by painting your shed with two coats of exterior paint.  A few of our sheds come with some exposed raw wood trim that must be primed before being painted.
I have an existing concrete slab. Can you build a shed on it?
If you have a concrete slab foundation you want to build a shed on, it must be level within ½ inch and the correct size for your shed. To build a shed directly on a concrete slab with no wood floor, the slab needs to be the exact size of the floor of your structure. If you want to build a shed on top using the included wood floor system, the slab can exceed the size of the shed.
Keep in mind that if you are pouring a new concrete slab foundation, you will need to wait 7 days for it to be cured before building your shed on it.
Can you remove my old shed?
Shed Liquidators does not provide shed removal services. Existing structures must be removed, and the site must be clear of debris before we arrive to install your new shed. Â
Do I need to do anything to prepare my yard prior to installation?
Before installation, choose a build site with a 3-foot clearance on all four sides and above. The site must be free from trees, shrubs, limbs, or other debris. The site also needs to be level within 6 inches. Your installer will level up to 6 inches at no additional charge. If your site is out of level by 6 inches but is under 18 inches, we offer a leveling package for an additional charge.
You’ll need to provide access to electricity within 150 feet of the unit, as well as 3-foot minimum unobstructed access for installers to carry your materials to the building site, or additional charges will apply. Keep pets inside or on a leash away from the installation area.
Does the shed need ventilation?
We recommend adding vents to your order or purchasing a shed with vents included. Proper ventilation is a great way to make spending time in your shed much more pleasant. The main reasons for ventilating a shed are to disperse excess heat in the summer and to prevent the moist, damp, stale air in the winter. The added air circulation also helps prevent fume buildup from chemicals you may store in your shed.Â
Does the shed need a foundation?
Our sheds are built on 4×4 pressure-treated runners (aka skids), so you can install a shed directly on the ground without needing a foundation. Unless required by local building codes, a concrete foundation is not required. Check your local municipality for details.
Will you provide a permit for my shed?
Unless you live in an area where professional contractors are required to pull the permits, customers can pull their own building permits. We can provide the drawings to assist with this.
If you would like us to pull the permit for you, we offer a permit package that covers the procurement of the permits. Every municipality has different permit requirements and fees, so once we receive your order, our local warehouse will reach out to you to get the necessary documentation (I.e., plot plan, seismic testing, etc.). Depending on the permit cost or required documentation, additional fees will vary by municipality.
